IDC's BreastCancerStories.com Website Takes Top Honors at NH Internet Awards

March 19, 2007 - Greenland, NH - Integrated Development Corp. (IDC) a leader in content-managed website development, marketing, and programming services, received a 2007 New Hampshire Internet Award (NHIA) for an online community it designed and launched for BreastCancerStories.com last year.

The site (www.breastcancerstories.com) took first prize in the Public Service category. Winners were announced last week at NHIA's 9th annual awards ceremony held at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester. Information on the awards is available at NH.com, the event's sponsor.

BreastCancerStories.com enables breast cancer patients to create their own web page where they can record and share their stories (and upload photos) to keep loved ones updated throughout their treatment. The site was conceived and developed by Wendy McCoole, a breast cancer survivor.

The site's ease of use was a crucial factor in the win. "This site provides a tasteful, comforting meeting place for people sharing the experience of battling against cancer. The Flash slide show on the home page establishes a human touch, rather than a clinical feel," said a statement from the NHIA judging committee. "The stories are easy to search by disease, treatment, medication, age, or geographical location of the author. The presentation is sensitive, avoiding the temptation to be melodramatic."
